St Lucia and Cozumel have held the number one and two position for many years. The third through fifth most popular destinations have switched over time, with Barbados having held the third spot since 1998. But in 2000, Jamaica surpassed Barbados to become the third most visited destination because Ocho Rio growth rate (+5%) was double that of Barbados. St Lucia saw increases in its Western European visitation, particularly in the British market (+13%). Furthermore, St Lucia saw a growth rate that was triple that of Martinique for Canadian visitation.
