Bequia
is most definitely 'the natural place' to be in the Caribbean.
Unspoilt by modernization, this land of pristine beauty and intrinsic
splendour is the paradise of all paradises. Many have dubbed the
area the sailors' rhapsody due to its immeasurable yachting courses,
impressive waters and seascapes.
You
won't find many tourists in this serene, yet dramatic archipelago.
Instead you have the rare opportunity to take in Mother Nature
at her best, without having to share her jewels and attentions
with a multitude of onlookers. If privacy is essential to you,
this concealed oracle is the perfect getaway.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is comprised of 32 isles and cays,
with the mainland, St. Vincent
being the largest. The majority of its sister islands are tiny
gems of sand spits and crystal waters. St. Vincent is a rich,
volcanic island which extends 18 miles north to south, and a mere
11 miles wide. The terrain is rugged, yet rich, with an abundance
of rivers, waterfalls, black and gold sandy beaches, and so much
more.
The
larger of the neighbouring islands include Bequia, Mustique, Canouan,
Palm Island, Petit St. Vincent, Mayreau and Union Island. They
are all inhabited, and just like St. Vincent, the lifestyle is
simple, carefree and very relaxed. |
